What Does Done Look Like?

Principle:

Knowing what “done” looks like for a goal guides your efforts and allows you to clearly finish and exit goal striving.

LeAnn Hunt Explains the What Does Done Look Like principle.

When choosing a goal, it’s important to know when you’re finished. Asking yourself “What does done look like?” clarifies what you’re really trying to accomplish. If you want to create a story for your grandchild for Christmas morning, done might look like a printed page stuffed in an envelope and mailed to their home, having a few notes in your phone to snuggle on the couch and tell them the story yourself, or an illustrated bound book that has to be ordered from Chatbooks or Costco. Knowing what done looks like helps you plan the scope of your efforts.
